Did I mention I have a job?

It's been tough for me to find a job over the last year. But thanks to a friend and former co-worker I started a very part-time job a few months back. I'm very happy and feel blessed to be in the position because it truly makes me realize how much I enjoy working with and supporting others.

And the short version of what I do? I provide support for the mentors and mentees of a mentoring program. It's not straight up social work, but it is giving me some experience that I didn't previously have. For instance, I have the opportunity to do home visits. I never did that as part of my practicum.

what's worse

I don't know what's worse. Extreme heat, dry, wilting plants and sweaty all over or thundershowers to cool things off, which ultimately floods the basement and leaves you without hot water.

Have you noticed the lack of posting? I don't consider myself an exceptionally great writer and therefore blogger (though I probably underestimate myself. I've been known to do that a lot). I used to keep a journal from the time I was in high school and through college, but writing in a journal was very different than blogging. I never expected anyone to read my journal, but the pressure to speak to an audience leaves me frozen.

And then, I have not decided what this blog should contain. And gosh that doesn't help because then I haven't given myself boundaries and thus freedom to write. I know. It sounds strange. But when I have perimeters then it actually frees me to run around within the perimeters and do whatever I know I can. Its like having a compass and with that compass I feel free to explore because I have some point of reference.

Anyway, reader, what suggestions might you have or references on blogging that might help me find direction?
